This is a five member law firm engaged in the general practice of law with emphasis in providing legal, tax and transactional services to small businesses. The firm performs a substantial amount of real estate and commercial law; civil litigation; business and tax counseling, and wills, trusts and estate planning.

This is a licensed real estate brokerage, investment and management company that has over $24 million in residential and commercial properties.

1980 - 1982 Staff Attorney (part-time), Indianapolis Legal Aid Society
Represented clients who were unable to afford private counsel in such matters as divorce, child support, landlord/tenant disputes, social security disability and employment discrimination.

1981 - 1993 Public Defender (part-time), Marion County Municipal Court #15
Represented indigent defendants charged with "D" felonies and misdemeanors.

1979 - 1980 Associate Attorney, Howell & Austgen, P.C.
Four member law firm concentrating in taxation, business & corporate law, estate planning and administration.

Taught criminal justice courses at Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana; Indiana Judicial Center, Indianapolis, Indiana; and Law Enforcement Training Academy, Plainfield, Indiana.

1973 - 1974 Director of Training, Indiana Department of Correction
Designed and established the Indiana Correctional Training Institute, which provided personal and professional development for the Department's 1800 employees, through a systematic and continuous education and training prescription. Developed plans to make college degree programs available behind the prison walls to both inmates and staff, through a consortium of colleges and universities and the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication System.

1971 - 1973 Correctional Counselor, Indiana Youth Center
Plainfield, Indiana. Special responsibility: served as facilitator in drug encounter groups for heroin addicts.
